Berths for Sale IN Monaco
Port guide - Monaco
Squeezed into 1.95 sq km, Monaco is the world’s second smallest country after the Vatican. This pint-sized principality is a sovereign state, with its own red-and-white flag, national holiday, telephone code and traditional Monégasque dialect. French is the official language, although many street signs, especially in the old Monaco Ville quarter, are in French and Monégasque. Monaco’s manicured streets are presided over by palaces and lush fountained parks. Monaco is most famed for its glamorous casino, Formula One cars roaring through the streets and the scintillating lives of its glamorous royal family, the Grimaldis.
Monaco has two ports – Fontvielle and Port Hercules. They are both extraordinary natural harbours, but getting a berth here is challenging. As both ports are relatively small for a population of 35,000 residents, priority is given to Monaco nationals and then Monaco residents. There are long waiting lists and your application to rent will only be considered if you are Monegasque or a resident.
